Helpful Hints:
The conference will be held on the beach at Boca Del Rio, San Pedro, Belize. Some events may be held inside depending on weather—remember we are on an island. Please be sure to preview our itinerary if booking excursions during the conference
You will fly into Belize City first, and then from there you can take a hop flight on either Tropic Air, or Maya Island Air to San Pedro. You can also choose to take the Belize Express ferry which is a less expensive route and a nice ride on the Caribbean Sea.
Because phone carriers vary on coverage in Belize, it is wise to download the WhatsApp application on your phone. Wifi is readily available and most of us use WhatsApp for communication. Get used to asking, "what's the wifi password?"
You DO NOT need a rental car, nor can you get one. For your transportation on the island, you may want a rental golf cart depending on how far your hotel is from the meeting. There are many companies that offer various fishing, diving, snorkeling, and mainland jungle tours doing cave tubing, Mayan ruins, the Belize Zoo, etc. Please take some time to check out TripAdvisor and Google to see what you might want to participate in. We will NOT be doing any excursion bookings for you, but your hotel/Airbnb will be able to help you.
Pack light. You are coming to the Caribbean. Dress for all events and meetings at the conference are beach casual. Shorts, shirt, and flip flops are perfect for the weekend. Sunscreen and other items are easily found on the island at countless stores, as are grocery items if you are wanting to cook while here.

With attendees coming from multiple countries speaking multiple languages, it is the most efficient way to make sure everyone has the information they need.
